AFlamboyant & unconventional in thoughts and action, Dr. Ram Gopal Acharya (Mithun Chakraborty) is a 'Guru' - philosopher who preaches his disciples the staunch difference between Paap (Sin) & Punya (Goods Deeds).
One of his life's truisms is that man should never succumb to Temptation and Sex to "Sinners" - women who seduce men for money and ultimately destroy them, Doli (Meghna Naidu) is a bar dancer, a beauty in full bloom, dances to entertain her customer, drawing false vision of lust and arousing passion in men through her sensual body movements. Her only dreams is that some day her Prince charming, riding on a white horse would come and take her away.
And then she meets Suraj (Vikas Bhardwaj), a London bases NRI, who is in India for business. Love blossoms between the two and Suraj transforms Doli from a symbol of disgrace into a symbol of pure and noble love. But the unfortunate reality remains unchanged.
Dr. Acharya's loyalty towards his friend J.K.Malhotra (Navin Nishchol)' father of Suraj, evokes the wicked side of him. He insults Doli and calls her a Prostitute, Sinner, Lady of the night, Adulteress...and blames her for tarnishing Suraj's reputation. Nature had begun to audit Doli's account with a red pencil. Appalled at such scorn and enfeebled with grief & humiliation Doli returns to her home only to find Sitara Didi (Himani Shivpuri), the owner being victimized because of her. Sitara is put behind bars for murder and Doli is shattered
Her fatigued mind & body finds no answer and she finally decides to take refuge in Acharya's ashram. A victorious smile cures his lips, as Acharya cannot resist the lure' the forbidden joy of passion, which he always condemned - SEX. Doli successfully exposes Dr. Acharya's lustful intention to his disciples. Suraj rescues Doli from the evil clutches of Acharya as he tries to forcefully marry her. His heart is set on fire with the longing for Doli and his feet begin to quiver to the tune of Wild Romance, Sex & Passion performing the CLASSIC DANCE OF LOVE.
Director B. Subhash and Mithun Chakravorty get together again for 'Classic - Dance of Love' to repeat their success of Disco Dancer, Dance Dance and Commando. And along with the two, their all time favourite Bappi Lahiri makes a comeback after a long while. Bappi Lahiri has given rocking music in the yesteryears and had compiled many foot tapping tracks for Mithun Chakravorty. What he does for him this time, let's check out!Accompanying the veteran Bappi Lahiri is the talented Sukhwinder Singh. Playing the lead are debutant Vikas and Hawas fame Meghna Naidu. The theme of the film is karma, yoga and the power of dance. Well this is quite unconventional! Let's find out what's in store for the music.
The opening track is by Sukhwinder Singh. 'Mohabbat Ho Jaaye' is an all round affair by him as he composes, writes and sings the song. The track has energy and froth and goes down to be a fine dancing number. When Bappi Lahiri and Sukhwinder Singh are doing the music, it is obvious that the tracks would be fascinating foot tapping numbers with interesting piece of beat and harmony. Sukhwinder Singh gets to his skin again for 'Classic - Dance Of Love' . This goes to be the title track of the film infused with a philosophical theme. The song is merged with quality instruments and indulging vocal. The beats and the load of instruments, make the track one of a kind. There is a repeat of the same track called ‘Theme of Classic - Dance Of Love' which is equally brilliant like the original composition. If the albums of present days have to produce quality singing, the name of Kailash Kher is a must to flash in the inlay card. ‘Saathi Mere' is written by B. Subhash, composed by Bappi Lahiri and sung by Kailash Kher. The theme is melancholic with the lovers being separated due to some reason. Kailash Kher gives a gleaming rendition for this situational track. His modulations just live you awestruck. The track is good in every aspect but would go down well with the pathos stricken ones. There is also a second version of the same track, which works out intensely too. For the ones who had been dying to hear Bappi Lahiri, here it is. 'Aa Mujhe Dekh' is a passionate track and Bappi Lahiri sound like icing the cake. The song is penned by Sameer and composed by Bappi da himself. His vintage style is evident but nonetheless the novel tune just gets on you. There is the repeat of the song rendered by Sunidhi Chauhan. She comes out with a dazzling performance too. The tracks have just the right feel and tilt to get down with an impressive note. Sukhwinder Singh adds further variety to the track with 'Mein Tujhpe Qurbaan' , a mushy romantic song. The song is laced with Sukhwinder's touch and feel. After hearing it you'll just do one thing - praise him! The sound track comes to a close with 'Saiyaji' in the soft velvety voice of Shreya Ghoshal. Bappi Lahiri brings back some old memories when such tracks were more in use. With Shreya Ghoshal's singing, Sameer's lyrics and Bappi Lahiri's music, nothing can go wrong with the song. The track beats the heat! With all the songs and their repeats fitting the bill, the outcome is complimentary. The tunes are loaded with appeal and the right element. The verdict is that all the tracks are good and the album is worth listening. Try it to believe it!
